Summer Reading

Picture
You have two choices for your summer reading response. One class day will be allowed for work time; after that, your presentation will take place during class.
Research response:
Research one organization or activist who appears in
Half the Sky. Go beyond Kristof and WuDunn's book to learn more. Present relevant information -- and your analysis of it -- using a visual medium. Include the following information:
    1. What issue or problem does this organization or person work to address?
    2. What kind of results do they produce?
    3. What lessons can we learn from this model?
    4. Please include a list of at least 2-3 sources outside of the book itself in MLA form.

OR
Creative response: In a form of your choosing (such as personal letter; editorial; fiction, poetry or drama), respond to an issue or story in this book that moved you or attracted your attention. Be prepared to share at least excerpts of your work with the class. Your piece of writing should be at least 2 pages long.
